Night Trap Revamped Live Action MEGACD Review

night trap thumbnail.jpg

Ahh Night Trap, the video game that created the need for age ratings. The game was originally released in 1992 and a Kickstarter project was setup for Night Trap Revamped an HD remake of the classic FMV game in 2014. Unfortunately the project didn't hit it's goal and the game was halted.

To this date, 7 years ago we came up with the idea of recreating our very own version of Night Trap. Having had some great feedback from the creators of Night Trap;

You and your colleagues did a great job with this! It's always nice to see our fans give their own takes on the material, and there's a lot of fun stuff in here. I think Commander Sampson will stand alongside Commander Simms in the Hall of Fame of great video game drill-sergeant types.

The video became one of our classic videos here at Blast Process and 7 years later we have released the video once again, now in correct format and voices synced up!

Tom + Mat Attack 155 – NieRest and Dearest

That’s the thing about the greatest games of this generation, they’ve often been brewing since the PS2! On this week’s TMA, Tom and Mat have both been playing some NieR, in Tom’s case, it’s NieR:Automata, while Mat dug up his 360 copy of the original NieR and took it for a walk around… In both cases, after taking that right turn at Drakkangard, both agree that the series is a good ‘un! After a brief discussion on the state of Japanese Games and Platinum as a studio, the boys crack out some more Zelda talk, before scrapping the bottom of the barrel with Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know and Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion!

Now on the run for his life, Otto inadvertently finds and befriends the elusive creature being sought by the hunters. Thus begins the perilous adventure of Troll and Otto.

Together, the unlikely friends embark on a journey through treacherous territory plagued with rivals. Natives to the forest, Troll and Otto must use their inherent skills to sneak, strategize, and battle their way back home. Tom + Mat Attack 154 – Paper Based Murder

On yet another Switch-Focused TMA, Mat’s been playing the 3 games that if you own a Nintendo Switch, you need in your life… Namely Super Bomberman R (meh), Snipper Clippers: Cut It Out, Together (yay!) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Oh Mama!). Tom has been upto some things between lowering the tone of the podcast, namely playing games like ADK Damashii on the PS4, as well as getting some on sale bargains in the likes of Dead Rising HD and Pacman Championship Edition 2!

Tom + Mat Attack 153 – Feelin’ Nintendo-ey

On this week’s TMA, the boys are both feeling ‘Nintendo-ey’ to use Tom Parry’s exact words. He’s been playing some Epic Mickey on the Wii, as well as almost beating Star Fox Zero, which he thinks isn’t all too shabby! Mat on the other hand, despite being down with the sickness, has been lost in the world of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda” Breath of the Wild, as well as playing a little Super Bomberman R on his new, shiny Nintendo Switch… He tries to talk about it but the man flu wins out and hilarity ensues…

Alien Breed Impact: An Alien game you should play

While browsing through my unused Humble Bundle games, as you do. I came across Alien Breed Impact and although the Alien Breed games always seem to be around the £4.99 mark, on Steam for the PC that is, after playing the game and especially in co-op mode the game is worth a pickup and play, even if its just for a short amount of time.

Below you can see some of our rough gameplay footage, noting too serious, just playing some games.

Tom + Mat Attack 152 – Squeezin’ Yakuza

You wouldn’t guess it from the title, but Mat only went and beat Yakuza? By jobe! He also played some Rez and might go out of his way to attempt to prove the PS2’s status as the greatest console of it’s generation. All the while, Tom’s been playing some (dare we say it…?) Hidden Gems on the system, not to mention losing sleep over the state of movie-licensed games and the Nintendo Switch…

Listen here.

Tom + Mat Attack 151 – Amazing!

ON this week’s TMA, the boys have been sampling more retro gaming delights! While Mat has been chomping at the bit of the PS2 game known as Yakuza, he’s come to some very controversial opinions about it and Shenmue. Tom however has been simply playing all the super hero Wii games under the sun. Some of them are genuinely amazing, like Wayforward’s Batman: The Brave and The Bold, others, like The Amazing Spiderman… Well, just listen and find out!

Tom + Mat Attack 150 – Buff Smurfs

A New Year, a new Podcast. Featuring only the finest, 100% not from 2017 games! Mat takes you on a trip through the plots of the Uncharted Series, talks a little about Over Cooked and demands you go buy The Last Guardian, while Tom’s playing Coffin Dodgers, buying questionable N64 games and a boatload of Double Dragon 4, all lovingly reviewed as if we were an early ’90s game mag. If you ask us, we’d give this podcast a whopping 88%!

Tom + Mat Attack 147 – Darker Than Doom!

It’s the first TMA of 2017 and suffice to say, the boys are raring to go! Mat’s been knee-deep in Hitman (it’s really good), Gravity Rush (also great!) and finally finishing of Pokémon Moon (also believe it or not, a good game!). Tom on the other hand has been playing The Last Guardian (you’d never guess, but it’s supposedly very good) as well as Turok (erm) and a whole lot else besides! What? You thought we were going to give it all away in the flavour text? Why, you cheeky monkeys… Go listen!

PRESS RELEASE

Phoning Home Begins a Daring Journey on PC in 7 Feb.

A Pair of Robots Explore an Uncharted Planet in a Struggle for Survival.

BERLIN - 9 Jan., 2017 - Phoning Home, an exploration game that follows a robot's crash landing on an unknown planet and attempt to make contact with his native world, will land on Steam 7 Feb. for Windows with Mac and Linux versions coming at a later date.

Players guide ION, a small android exploring a massive alien world, as he uncovers the mysterious cause of his wreck. ION's dangerous search results in encounters with towering wildlife, remnants of ancient civilizations and harsh elements like scorching deserts and bitter cold plains.

Early in his journey ION meets ANI, a smaller robot that becomes a constant companion. ANI's sharpshooting provides a robot leg-up in combat and keeps colossal enemies at bay while ION's greater mobility helps the pair traverse the strange landscape. Only together can the team overcome nearly impossible odds.

ION will shield ANI from treacherous beasts and unforgiving hazards as she becomes more vulnerable to the relentless elements. Phoning Home features captivating visuals that blend familiar elements of our own world with strange creatures, fantastic surroundings and intriguing mystery. Weather and daylight follow realistic cycles, making the frigid peaks, lush forests and other areas players explore feel truly alive.

"Phoning Home's enormous open-world is full of surprises and provides players a true sense of adventure," said Marko Dieckmann, founder, ION LANDS. "This combination of exploration and survival games will keep gamers on their toes as they embark on a journey like none other."
