Alas! E3 is over, many games have been announced and discussed, so it’s time for us to get back to what we usually do, talk about what we’ve been playing, while screwing up what number podcast we’re on (sorry Lapras fans!)… Mat’s been beating a lot of games like The Talos Principle, The Witcher 3 and Trials of The Blood Dragon, while Tom’s not been finishing Rise, but actually beating Pokemon titles! Steam is full of open-world games these days, it seems we enjoy transversing around a vast open area and exploring the unknown.
I've recently stepped into Lifeless myself so keep an eye out for our feedback on the game but as I write this two days late, the game has already received an update, along with the patch notes for the next update.
London, UK, 16th June 2016 – Today, Green Man Gaming Publishing, the publishing arm of Green Man Gaming, and Swedish indie developer, Rigid-Soft have launched their new multiplayer survival game, Lifeless, onto Early Access. Lifeless is an open world survival game that focuses on strong co-operative play based on two factions that fight against zombies and other players in the world.
Lifeless originally started development in 2014 by Swedish startup developer, Rigid-Soft. Following early coverage of Lifeless in Alpha, the developers decided to up their game by switching to Unreal Engine 4. "We had a vision of detailed environments, brutal combat, and solid multiplayer for Lifeless, and we are very confident we are heading in the right direction by using Unreal Engine 4,” said Rigid-Soft CEO Kristoffer Blasiak. “By coming to Early Access, we can work with the community to deliver that experience."
"We've been working hard with the team at Rigid-Soft since late last year, and seen Lifeless go from strength to strength getting ready for Early Access," said Gary Rowe, EVP of Green Man Gaming Publishing. "The team are fully funded, and have a full roadmap of features they plan to deliver during Early Access."

The Secret Monster Society is a 2d comedy adventure game where you play as Blithe Dalrich, a dream monster of the ‘underworld’ who, with the aid of his best friend Aphonic, sets off to stop an evil villain bent of destroying human dreams. Meet and converse with over one hundred colourful characters, all with their own distinct personality and quirks. Venture to sunny Caribbean islands, murky forests, dank caves, and even meet death himself.
The Secret Monster Society encapsulates a large amount of mini-games and puzzles. With, one key gameplay mechanic, the ability to time travel between two points in time. The time travel mechanic allows for greater puzzle variance, and story depth.
“The amount of support since first showing the game has been overwhelming. We have been trying to capture the aesthetics of the Saturday morning cartoons that many of us grew up with. And, from player reaction, we may have succeeded.” said Gavin Powell, game director for Deceptive Games. “We have grown up playing 2d adventure games, and combining the two has made for a perfect combination, for the both lore and aesthetics of the game. We are very excited for more players to get their hands on the game.”
