Tom + Mat Attack 129 – Social Corpse Devourer

Social hooks in games are always fun right? Like ‘poking’ a friend, or helping them harvest their crops, or in the case of Shadows of the Beast, eating their lifeless corpse to fuel your own fiendish intentions! Well, Tom’s been doing just that! Mat however has been socially putting bullets in the heads of the cast of Overwatch and fending off demonic hordes in Doom… It’s a wonderful world!

Ghost Theory now being made thanks to Kickstarter

After it's first Kickstarter campaign then again with a relaunch, Ghost Theory has now been fully funded on Kickstarter.

The team at Dreadlocks have also opened up an preorder page for Ghost Theory for continued support for the game.

Prague, Czech Republic—05/18/2016

Dreadlocks are proud to announce that their Kickstarter campaign for Ghost Theory was successful, which means this game is going to be made. Estimated release is Q4 2017 and at a price of 24.99 USD.

Everyday day we’re approached by new fans who just learned about the game and want to support its development. We have therefore created a pre-order webpage (http://crowdfunding.ghost-theory.com) to open our arms to these new supporters. Most of our original Kickstarter rewards are still available, including access to a prototype version of the game or a UV flashlight which you can use to reveal hidden content on other physical rewards – messages, facts, hints and, if you’re lucky, even an extra Steam key. In addition, we will be adding new rewards in the near future – ones that were not available as part of the Kickstarter campaign.

To honor this celebratory press announcement, we have decided to publish a new in-game screenshot of one of our selected haunted locations beside the actual real-life photo of that location. We hope this will get your spines refrigerated.

Gaming PC Build Guide: What they don't tell you

The last time I built my own gaming PC would of been around 15 years ago, yeah thats a long time and well overdue. So why now? My main reason is being able to play a whole bunch of indie games that are launching on Steam, along with the urge of going back to be playing FPS games with a mouse and keyboard.

I'm also seeing my self turning off the TV and tuning into Twitch streams, after I turn the TV back on of course! I've been watching all the latest CS:GO competitions and it takes me back. I was apart of the first UK professional clan, more on this topic another day. Let's get on with the guide.

While I knew what I was doing, I felt I should refresh myself with all the latest products and setup configurations. I browsed and read a lot of different guides for building a gaming PC but here's a few things that cropped up when purchasing and building my new setup.

Case

ATX Bench Case, ATX Mini Tower, ATX Mid Tower, ATX Full Tower, ATX Super Tower, Home Theater Computer Case, Server Chassis... the list goes on. Do your research, while I did buy the correct size case to fit my motherboard I rushed in and wanted a cheap case to hold my parts together. This did do the job but my case didn't come with all the correct standing pins to hold my motherboard into place, a few missing screws is ok, I hope.

The other problem with choosing a cheap PC case is ensuring it's going to hold all your components. My AMD radeon card is a lot larger then a typical Nvidia card and the card itself only just managed to fit into the case, it's still a tight squeeze once the power cables are connected to the card.

Next issue was ventilation. The case did come with one case fan as standard and has room for one other fan, this is located at the back. Buying a fan to install into the case I made a slight oversight but luckily I purchased the correct size of fan for my case, so make sure you double check the sizing of the parts that you'll be placing inside the case before jumping in and thinking it will do.

Talking of case fans, you can now buy ones with a 3 or 4 pin connectors. Plugging a 3 pin into a 4 pin slot will work but you won't have the ability to control the fan speeds, that you'd get with a 4-pin fan.

Windows

Setting up Windows was as simple as booting up your PC with a Windows disk but most custom builds won't come with a DVD drive but you can now boot and install Windows from a USB stick, simple right?

Every guide I read and followed on how to install Windows informed me to download a Windows install and this would create the install within the USB stick, while this was true IF you're downloading the files on a correct Windows operating system e.g. Windows 7 and up, I was not. Using a Windows Vista system, known as a Legacy Windows you cannot download the installer as a easy setup tool and only as a iso file, I couldn't get this to work so I had to borrow a more up to date system to create my windows installer.

Maybe an oversight by myself but just a few niggles slowed me down along the way but general research is key, while being practical is the best way to learn and progress.

Tom + Mat Attack 127 – Be-Witcherd

For two people who claim to have ‘not played a lot of games this week’, they certainly have enough to talk about! Mat’s on a quest to hunt down the last cherry picks of his NES collection, debating if the Witcher 3 is actually a good game and neglecting to mention he’d also played the new Ratchet & Clank (that’s for next week I guess!). Tom has naturally, been playing some more Skylanders, as well as buying more elusive Lemmings titles! It’s a jam packed episode, I tell thee!

Listen Here.

Tom + Mat Attack 126 – Blaziken’s Boy Bits

tma.jpg

On this week’s belated TMA, we’re talking more Toys to Life! Tom’s discovered the joys of Skylanders, while Mat too has been buying some Super chargers! Other than that, the boys have been playing some Pokken Tournament, with Mat swearing a vow of game buying celibacy to anything not handheld… But I mean, you still hold a controller, right…?

Listen Here.

Tom + Mat Attack 125 – In the mood for Tron!

They boys are back! Slightly later than they should be, but they’re here at last! On this week’s TMA, Tom has been playing yet more Toys to Life games, while Mat has yet again been to another flea market and found wonders the likes of which you’ve never had described in an audio format! Tom also gets a surprise and is finally able to talk about Nitro Plus Blasterz, while Mat has actually played very little! How crazy!

Listen Here.

Tom + Mat Attack 124 – Toys To Life Talk

On this week’s TMA, the boys are talking games! Surprising no? On the schedule this week is some serious Toys to Life Talk, with Tom getting into the thick of things with Disney Infinity 3.0 and Mat has been playing Skylanders Super Chargers! Other than that, Mat’s been to the first Flea Market of the year, hunting down some PS2 and PS1 titles, while Tom has been playing, but not talking about Nitro Plus Blasterz! Embaaaargoes!

Listen Here.

Tom + Mat Attack 123 – Catastrophic Introductions

You know what they say, 4th (or 3rd…) time’s a charm as Tom & Mat eventually are able to start a podcast! Tom’s been hoovering up any Marvel Disney Infinity Figure he can get his hands on for Infinity 3.0’s upcoming Powerstone Battlegrounds Playset, while Mat defends the need to Amiibo! Other than that, the boys have been playing some Tembo the Bad Ass Elephant, The Witcher 3 and Discussing the worth of Barbie games on the PS1. It’s a mixed bag, but that’s the way we like it!

Listen Here.

Tom + Mat Attack 122 – Not Very Exciting Video Games

The boys decided to do the opposite of the usually exciting video game content and talk budget sports titles, biblically themed platformers and a lot of tosh besides that! Mat makes some controversial statements about Zelda and has his mind blown by how many Double Dragon games there are, while Tom’s been picking up some obscure titles and playing a little bit of Metroid Zero Mission and mispronouncing words! Ahhh banter!
