Hey Blast Processors! Hope you’ve all had a good Christmas. The Team are presently regrouping and thinking about exciting new content for the coming year. For now, to get the ball rolling let’s look forward to the next year and what lovely gaming delights await!
The first of these will be Street Fighter X Tekken, which may look similar to Street Fighter 4 at first glance till we see some surprise guests take to the arena.
The game will be the first time Street Fighter and Tekken chracters will come head to head in a vs. fighting game and I for one can’t wait!
Release Date: 28 October 2011
The second of the games, Tekken X Street Fighter will see the same concept from a reverse perspective that pits Kazuya and co. against Ryu and chums using Tekken gameplay mechanics.
I’m very interested to see how they pull this one off. It will most likely be using the Tekken 6 engine but details are sparse at the moment.
Release Date: 28 October 2011
2. Devil’s Third
From Tomonobu Itagaki (creator of Dead or Alive) and his newly formed Valhalla Game Studios, comes this frankly mental looking third person action game. The combat looks fast paced and totally over the top…just the way I like it! Roll on April!
Release Date: 08 April 2011
3. Never Dead
I mentioned Never Dead earlier in the year as being my pick of Tokyo game show and I’m still eagerly awaiting it’s release. A third person action game where you can blow your own limbs off, use them to your advantage and still keep going as you fend of hordes of monsters. Lovely. It certainly looks like it has a sense of humour too, which is always good in my book.
Release Date: TBC
4. Kirby’s Epic Yarn
The Wii is certainly king of the 2D platformers at the moment, with the subline Donkey Kong Country Returns presently keeping my Wii warm over Christmas (err…sounds a little wrong that). Slated for release this Christmas but now down for a February release is the latest contribution to the Wii’s platformer collection staring the ever young Pink blob, Kirby. With it’s creative visual style and all new Kirby abilities, this should be a sure fire hit among platform fans.
Release Date: 25th February 2011
5. Little Big Planet 2
Speaking of platform games, 2011 sees the release of Little Big Planet 2, the long awaited sequel to the PS3’s own king of 2D platforming. Little Big Planet 2 promises big things, with the extended development time, I’m confident it won’t disappoint…
Release Date: 21st January 2011
There’s plenty more that I’m positively salivating to play next year such as Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Last Guardian, Mortal Kombat, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Tekken Tag 2, Pokemon: Black and White and the shock announcement of Soul Calibur 5 to name a few, it should be a very good year…
The team would love to hear your thoughts on what you’re most looking forward to in 2011, so be sure to drop us a line. For now, here’s Blast Process wishing you all a Happy New Year and all the best for 2011!
